How To Remember An Astral Projection – Recent Experience

2 January, 2008 (02:20) | Uncategorized | By: admin

I have started really having some proper Astral Projection success. During the projections, I think, this is amazing and I remember everything at the time. I think, there is no way I’m going to forget any of this. Unfortunately when I wake up, I forget very quickly and only remember snippets.

In Robert Monroe’s excellent book “Mastering Astral Projection” he refers to OBE (Out of Body Experience) memory as “Shadow Memory”. In a very brief summary he says that when you Astral Project, a perfect copy of your thinking conciousness shifts out with your projected double. Your conciousness is split into 2 identical parts. During reintegration, memories from the projected double are downloaded into the brain/mind. He calls this “Shadow Memory Download”. He then goes on to explain that OBE memories are held in much the same way as dream memories, just beyond the edge of conscious memory.

In other words, long term Astral Projection memory is similar to long term dream memory, hence if you can improve your dream memory, you can improve your Astral Projection memory.

Robert Monroe explains how shadow memory (long term Astral Projection memory) can be trained by keeping a dream journal. This includes writing down keys words from your dream experience as soon as you awaken. Then later on, use these words to try and remember as much of the dream or dreams as possible. The more you do this, the better becomes your dream memory and more importantly your long term Astral Projection memory.

I started doing this a while ago and it was amazing just how many dreams I started remembering. Unfortunately, I became lazy recently. Now I’m having a number of Astral Projections, with poor memory recall, I’ve started my dream journal again.

My Most Recent Astral Projection Memory

I remember being outside on an urban street. I saw a road with pavements either side and a tall brick wall or building on one side, just beyond the pavement from where I was looking. I remember finding it very hard to move. It’s hard to explain unless you have experienced it, but I kept fading out, so I remembered a technique I read in another book about how to stabilise this, looking at your hands. I looked at my hands, I saw them, but they sort of dissolved. I remembered thinking about my physical body on purpose to see if I returned, I did. I then consciously exited again. If you return to your physical body and try to project again, as long as your quick, this is normally easy. I then remembered seeing people going about their normal business outside in a residential street. I looked at them, thinking who are they, is there anything I can see to prove I was really here? I looked about, but I was in an unfamiliar neighbourhood and I couldn’t see anything unique to tell me exactly where I was, just plane houses and a few people walking who I didn’t recognise. I remember being totally amazed, concious and alert throughout the whole experience. I knew I was Astral Projecting, it certainly wasn’t like any dream.
