A Stunning Night At The Station Hotel in Dudley With Central England Paranormal Investigators (CEPI)

There follows a short report which I sent back to CEPI following an investigation I attended to The Station Hotel in Dudley where I experieced an alledged spirit take over (possession).

Earlier on the investigation and on a previous investigation with CEPI, I saw someone apparently getting taken over by a spirit. I made it clear I was extremely sceptical about this, especially when I had never ever felt anything in the past in haunted locations. I chatted about this to team members and I learnt that it’s more likely to happen if one is totally relaxed, E.g. if you let it happen. With this in mind I continued with the investigation, although I still remained very sceptical and certainly didn’t expect to actually be affected in any way.

While split into one of two groups, I sat down in the chair by the window in room 214, I meditated and stayed relaxed. This was obviously a place where lots of things where experienced as I was specifically asked whether I could feel anything on a number of occasions, but as usual I felt absolutely nothing. After about ten minutes totally unaffected, I stood up nearby while another guest tried sitting down in the chair. This left be even more sceptical than usual, but nevertheless I continued to meditate and stayed totally relaxed, trying to keep a clear mind. About a minute later, I felt unusual pressure at both sides of my temple. This increased dramatically, at this stage I knew something extremely strange was happening to me and mentioned to the rest of the group. CEPI staff members were clearly used to this situation and were well trained, it was made clear to me that I could pull out of it at any time and was made to feel secure. Because I wanted proof that something (allegedly a spirit) really could effect someone, I decided to continue and followed CEPIs staffs advice to stay calm and let it happen. Before long I felt my heart racing and was struggling to control my movements, I was very confused, I couldn’t think and was in a partial state of conciousness. I don’t remember everything, but I was apparently looking around and seemed to be in a trance state. Later the affect began to wear off. The whole experience wasn’t unpleasant, it was just extremely strange and I felt quite weird for about an hour afterwards, CEPI staff reassured me that this is normal after such an experience and the spirit wasn’t actually still with me.

I’m very used to haunted locations, I don’t scare easily and this certainly couldn’t have been a psychological reaction on my part. I felt nothing in the chair where people are allegedly effected, it happened elsewhere, this totally rules out auto suggestion. I have meditated in the past and nothing like this has ever happened before. I am fit, well and don’t suffer from any unusual illnesses (I even had a medical about a week ago). I am normally very sceptical and question absolutely everything, looking for logical explanations. Everyone witnessed how I was effected.

Taking everything into account, I was most certainly severely effected by something unknown to conventional science. In my opinion (and certainly in CEPI’s) I was directly effected by a spirit, but I know a parapsychologist wouldn’t accept this as an explanation. Anyway, it was the most amazing experience I have had on any paranormal investigation to this date. This is certainly hard to beat!

I apologise to CEPI (especially Don) for initially questioning and being very sceptical about alleged take overs (and other things) which I have observed during CEPI investigations. Now it’s happened to me, I know this actually really happens. I admit I was wrong, but I will also understand other peoples scepticism until they actually experience this themselves. This experience has also opened my mind to the possibility of genuine psychic abilities and other methods used by CEPI staff that I was once very sceptical about.

Congratulations to CEPI for looking after everyone so well, as well as running such an amazing event. No-one at any time did anything they didn’t want to do, yet everyone experienced something. CEPI Staff are extremely experienced and are in total control at all times no matter what happens during an event. Because you know CEPI are there, you are able to remain calm in such a situation as I was in, knowing that you will be looked throughout. Only with CEPI could one continue to let this happen and stay completely calm. I am now “gob smacked” and I can’t thank CEPI enough for making this incredible experience possible.

Before all this happened, in the cellar most of us saw strange shadows up against the steps where deliveries are made. Firstly I noticed changes in the light. I then went up close to investigate. When close I saw moving shadows that where very much in focus, like someone was moving about close to the light. Every time I turned to look at the group, no-one was moving and the rest of the group were too far away to produce such a sharp shadow. I then examined the external light coming from around the edges of the cellar delivery hatch. I watched very closely for sometime, but the light around the edges was constant and definitely wasn’t causing the moving shadows. This was extremely strange and cannot be explained using conventional science. This alone would have made my night, but what I experienced in room 214 I will never ever forget.
