Poor Service & Mistakes From NPower

27 August, 2008 (01:11) | Uncategorized | By: admin

My advice is stay well away from NPower, in the past I've received a terrible service, but lately they seem to have a bad habit of sending bills for money that's not owed.

With NPower, if you have a problem with a prepaid card meter, it's almost impossible to get an engineer out as I found when I had a fault in a new property a while ago. 5 new customer cards later and 2 days of repeated ringing and waiting in massive expensive phone queues just to get fobbed off, I finally got an engineer to visit who turned up very late when I had to stay in without electric all day, all along it was a fault with the meter which I knew straight away, but Npower didn't want to help and initially threatened to charge me for the engineer.

I moved properties again recently at the time of writing and had to go back to NPower for 2 weeks when I was on Ebico which is far cheaper with a better service. I was told that I had no option but to use NPower again as the new property was already being supplied by NPower and that I could transfer back to Ebico within 2 weeks. I reluctantly registered with NPower and I used a Prepaid meter with card. I really noticed that it cost a lot more than Ebico for the short time I was forced to use NPower. I then finally received a new customer card for Ebico and put it in the machine, wiping a small amount of left over NPower credit. NPower have now for some reason sent me a bill demanding payment when I clearly don't owe a single penny. This has also happened to a friend of mine and to me again in my previous property. Npower don't know what they are doing and thier mistakes could cause someone's credit history to be blackened when someone like myself refuses to pay a bill that they definitely don't owe.

I've written a complaint to NPower asking for a written apology and then not contact me ever again regarding payment for a bill that I don't owe.

I will update with the outcome of my complaint…..

When I moved I was forced to move back to Npower temporarily as they supplied my new address. I transferred immediately back to Ebico, but got a nasty bill from Npower even though I was on a prepaid meter without any debt. I complained in writing and to Npower’s credit, they did reply, apologise and clear the debt.
