A friend of mine recommended Servage as a paid alternative hosting service for this site and for another site I'm involved for Birmingham Investigators of the Unknown. You can even have more than one domain linked to just one paid account sharing the bandwidth limits Etc. I'm currently using Freehostia who only charged me for the domain, providing free hosting, but unfortunately the service has been intermittently unreliable and is a little slow. Servage provide cheap UK hosting that's very competetive and according to my friend very fast and reliable. At the time of writing it costs £4.50 a month and for that you get 510GB of data, 5010GB monthly transfer allowance and a free domain or domain transfer. You get a massive amount for your money and it's far more than what you get with Freehostia's free hosting service. You can increase the limits with Freehostia, but then it works out quite expensive and it's not likely to improve reliability.

I've asked Servage 2 presales questions using the sales email address given on thier official website, one question asking how long my site will be down transferring the domain and the other asking how much it would cost to transfer more than one domain. These are very important questions which I needed answering before signing up. I asked the questions on the 27th August 2008 and received no reply. I sent another email on the 12th September saying that it's a bad first impression for you to ignore my email, but on the 26th September, I still haven't received a reply. I've now written a 3rd Email saying that the've lost a customer and I'm going to reveiw my experience on-line with Servage and I'm awaiting a reply to this.

Well if Servage won't even reply to sales questions using the correct Email address given on thier official website, what kind service do they provide? I was going to use them, but now I can't and won't risk it. Luckily Freehostia has been more reliable recently at the time of writing, this at least gives me more time to find a suitable alternative hosting service.

I will update if I finally get a reply from Servage, if not, I will keep trying but as I said earlier, I can't risk using them now.
