Last night, my friend, psychic medium and neighbour, Gareth Lloyd was very concerned and he has never shared this type of concern before with me. He said that something very bad was going to happen tonight and that we are in danger, he said that his senses were twitching, but he could say exactly what it was. He went on saying that the emergency services will be here tonight and repeatedly warned me, he was very uncomfortable throughout the evening. Because of this, he felt he couldn’t go out too far away from his flat.

About 5 hours later, it was getting very late and I began to forget about the alleged psychic warning at around 1.15am. The fire alarm then sounded in our flat complex. Gareth, Peter and myself (also founding members of BirminghamIU) are acting fire marshals and quickly went out to the fire alarm panel. We have had many false alarms in the past, so many that unfortunately most residents fail to react to fire alarms, but Gareth was especially concerned about this one and acted as if it was a serious emergency straight away. The fire panel told us of a potential fire on the 1st floor above, I ran upstairs with Peter while Gareth called 999 as we’ve always been instructed even if we know it’s a false alarm. To our horror we discovered thick choking smoke on the landing, but the fire panel didn’t tell us which flat the smoke was coming from maybe because of a fault. We started banging on various doors, telling the residents to evacuate and in an attempt to find out where the smoke was coming from. Peter saw one door open and lots of smoke throughout, the resident can’t be named for privacy and confidentiality but she appeared intoxicated and went on saying everything was fine. We knew it definitely wasn’t fine and entered the flat to find flames coming from burning cooking oil on the kitchen floor in wok. Apparently she’d dangerously tried to use this wok as a chip pan. The resident didn’t co-operate and leave the flat as instructed, she instead picked up the burning wok and was about to try and extinguish it using the cold tap in the sink. We shouted at the top of our voice at her not to and ran to take cover. If 1 drop of water had hit burning cooking oil, it causes a very serious flash fire which would have caused serious injury or even death, it was extremely close but she was JUST stopped in time (See video below). I went running for a powder fire extinguisher, but to cut a long story short, it was extinguished safely without anyone getting hurt, except for minor smoke inhalation problems. All 3 emergency services turned up at the scene and Gareth was right about this and his alleged psychic warning.

We was very lucky and we now strongly believe it was more than just a coincidence Gareth had this alleged psychic warning. We was very close to getting at least seriously injured. What I also noticed after the incident was lots of banging and tapping within my flat, which was also unexplained like a spirit was trying to communicate. I can’t prove it, but I’ve never heard as much tapping as this around me in my flat before.
