As a paranormal investigator for Birmingham Investigators of the Unknown I always try to remain open minding to most alleged paranormal phenomenon. I am the most scientific member of the group and have been investigating allegedly haunted locations since 1996 when I was still sceptical about the existence of ghosts and spirits. Since then I have witnessed masses of unexplained phenomena which quickly changed my view on the paranormal forever. The area I’m still lacking is psychic abilities, but I’m learning well and already have shown what I believe are some abilities.

I have seen other people get taken over by a spirit (known as trance mediumship – full trance), where the spirit takes total control of the psychic medium and talks through them. I have attempted to get taken by spirit myself on a number of occasions, but so far haven’t been completely successful. Saying this I have had partial success and have certainly experienced something that is paranormal and unexplained throughout my attempts.

Tonight at the time of writing, BirminghamIU initially visited a private location where we suspected that spirits were effecting a person quite severely, unfortunately for confidential reasons I can’t go into full details of the case. I will say that during my visit, I felt extremely heavy, like a pressure around my head pushing down, it didn’t hurt in any way and it’s quite hard to explain unless you’ve experienced it yourself. When I left the location my friend who has more psychic abilities than me also said he felt very heavy throughout and had to keep blocking what he thought was a number of spirits trying to take him over afterwards.

Under controlled conditions with BirminghamIU, I then decided to attempt to get taken over by spirit completely for the 1st time. I closed my eyes and cleared my mind to feel extreme heaviness and pressure on my head. I continued to stay still and relaxed, my friend witnessed my face completely change like I took on the features of someone else. After a while I felt like I was entering a dark void and almost lost conciousness, but unfortunately at this stage I lost it and the heaviness subsided. I tried and tried, probably too hard, but it was no use.

In the past I’ve been able to get to this stage on a few occasions, but unfortunately still haven’t managed to go into full trance as yet, but I feel I’ve been very close from my personal experience of going into a dark void with extreme pressure on my head. I will also note that in the past I’ve been recorded on an infra-red night vision camcorder and my face taking on other features has been observed and recorded to my amazement.

I am totally genuine and I know that if I managed to get taken over by a spirit, it’s 100% real. Sadly there may be fake psychic mediums around, many doing it for publicity or to make money, but I know that there most certainly are things that so far haven’t been explained to conventional science and it certainly appears that getting taken by a spirit is possible from my experience so far.

I will continue practising trance and hopefully one day I will successfully be taken over completely by a spirit, preferably on video for everyone to view including myself afterwards. When this happens, people can rest assured that the evidence is real. If I wanted to fake a spirit taking, I would have already done it long ago.

I will update with details of future attempts and experiences successful or not. Hopefully eventually I will be able to link to my first full trance / spirit taking video that I know is totally genuine. Please see the warning below BEFORE even considering an attempt at trance mediumship yourself.
