Haunted Happenings Attempt To Get Our Bad Review Removed By Offerred Free Perks!
Hazel who I believe is the founder of Haunted Happenings unexpectedly phoned me on the 23rd March 2008 about my post titled, “Haunted Happenings – What A Mistake!” which details my opinion of Haunted Happenings after my friend and myself attended a paid public paranormal event to Tutbury Castle in Burton on Trent on the 27th June 2008. Although my post was probably detrimental to Haunted Happenings reputation, it was an honest opinion and a personal review based on events as I saw them on the evening in question.
Hazel sounded very sincere and genuine on the phone and she wanted resolve the situation amicably by offering a suitable resolution. She explained that the post had upset her as she said that they put a lot of work into their paranormal events. She offered PJCNET a free event of our choice for 2 people with Haunted Happenings so that they can prove to us that they can run a good event, but in return Hazel wanted me to remove the post or at least modify it so it wasn’t detrimental to the reputation of Haunted Happenings. I reluctantly agreed to modify the post as I believe everyone is entitled to a second chance, but I refused to modify it in such as way as to deceive my readers.
I modified the post in question, explaining up front to my readers that Haunted Happenings had approached us politely, kindly offering us a free event so they could prove to us that they could run an excellent professional event and that for the time being I had taken the original review down pending what we hoped would be a good night in the near future.
On the 25th March, Hazel sent me an email explaining that she hadn’t forgotten us and that she was in the process of setting up events for paranormal groups as I’m a founder member of Birmingham Investigators of the Unknown which is a non profit paranormal investigation and research group. I replied to her question whether I’d be interested in profit making public events or in more serious investigations designed more for paranormal groups and I of-course replied immediately with my preference towards a more serious paranormal investigation. It initially sounded really good that Haunted Happenings were promising to organise serious investigations and that they are now non-profit making as in my opinion this shows they are passionate about what they do. This made we wander if I’d been too quick to judge Haunted Happenings just from going on one paranormal event and that perhaps the previous public event was either a one off or that the organisation had since improved.
I waited patiently and heard nothing from Hazel for sometime. On the 4th April I emailed Hazel asking for an update on the free investigation she had promised, but it’s now the 10th April at the time of writing and she has ignored the Email totally so far. It’s now well over 2 weeks since Hazel last communicated at all, so I have restored the post about the event I attended, please click for read the full article.
I wrote a genuine post and opinion about a paranormal investigation I attended with Haunted Happenings which included exactly how I felt I was treated on the event in question, it was nothing personal against Haunted Happenings themselves. I gave Haunted Happenings a one off chance to resolve the issue and I even compromised by changing the post which I felt I really shouldn’t have done, but I felt bad that it had upset Hazel and wanted to give her a chance to compromise. I’m deeply saddened however that Hazel seems to have lost interest since I removed the poor review about her organisation and now it’s only right that I put back the original post so people can read my opinion and judge for themselves.
I thought about using the word, “bribe” in the title text, but I decided that this might be a bit too harsh even though Hazel did certainly offer a perk in exchange for taking the bad review down.

Hazel has contacted us now long after the article returned offering us a free event for even more people, but she has gone quiet again for ages, I’m not taking anything down now.

Hazel never did come up with the goods hence the article continues to remain. I see this approach as deceit as she has clearly lied about a free event to get the article removed for a while. Haunted Happenings continues to go grow as a profit making venture which has jumped on the Most Haunted band wagon. Unfortunately I only recommend it for entertainment purposes and not a professional paranormal investigation.
