Trek Pay & Trek Advertising – On Test!
Update 10/10/09: I am now giving Trek Pay a 2nd Chance,
please click here to see my 2nd on-going test report titled, “time to give Trek Pay a 2nd chance!”. I won’t give Trek Advertising a 2nd chance as I my Google Ads account has become too important to me to risk losing, but it’s safe to use if you wish to purchase basic hits.
Original Article
I have signed up to a system called Trek Pay and Trek Advertising, they are officially in prelaunch at the time of writing, but Trek Pay still promises to pay weekly. You can use either or both systems using the same login details. I will be testing and reviewing the system over the coming weeks to see if it works and if it really pays what it claims. I am upfront and have linked to these systems using my affiliate links as I need to promote the system myself to fully test it, but this review will remain totally unbiased in every way as the good reputation of this website is far more important to me than a few bucks and I’m a very honest person.
Trek Pay:
The 1st system allows you to earn money by searching and visiting websites plus the Ads on these websites, you can also earn extra by referring members. Membership is totally free for all. You get paid weekly by Paypal when your earnings are over $5.50 and the maximum monthly payout is $200. Your payout is worked out using a revenue sharing system based on your credits earned along with your performance rank against the current membership which is rated in 3 ways, your overall rank, your referral rank for Trek Pay and your referral rank for Trek Advertising.

Trek Advertising:
The 2nd system is for advertisers who want people to click on Ads on their websites, E.g. Google Adsense. It costs $0.06 per search (minimum spend $5) which means someone finds your website and clicks on an Ad on it, E.g. A Google Ad. The potential revenue obtained from doing this is allegedly much higher than the cost of $0.06 per Ad, but I’m not 100% convinced that Google Ads or other paid Ad networks will approve of this system if and when they find out – we will soon see! You can also buy basic website traffic at $0.02 per visit. There’s no time limit on how long people have to view a website or website Ads to earn credits so one can click on the link and close it straight away, but there’s an ingenuous way to encourage people to read your website anyway as they occasionally include a special icon on the website, if you don’t click on it you get a penalty point and too many penalty points leads to an account suspension. If you do close the website instantly, you are basically risking a penalty!

ONGOING REVIEW & TESTS
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Initially both systems look quite good. I have searched the Internet and they appear to genuinely pay as various independent people are offering to show proof which shows it’s unlikely to be a scam, but I will be able to confirm this below in my logs.
I will say however that the amount one is paid is initially kept a secret as it’s a revenue share so I won’t have any idea how well they pay until my total earned is calculated which I suspect happens once a week. This amount could vary as time goes on, it might get better, it might stay around the same or it might get worse. If payments are reasonable, I hope it’s not just a honeymoon period like some systems I’ve used in the past. The amount of credits available is fair with 3066 members and rising at the time of writing, but it’s got a long way to go to make the search facility worth while as at present you can easily click on all Ads available on a daily basis without bothering to search. It’s a shame there is a maximum payout of $200 a month using the 1st system which isn’t a fortune, but it’s better they are honest with this than not to pay out at all like the many scam sites out there on the Internet today that falsely promise great riches. I will keep a log as to how I’m getting on over the coming weeks.
For advertisers, it a really good idea to allow people to obtain hits on Ads that create direct revenue on their websites. People even get the option of searching for Ads based on keywords or they just appear in a list which should become more worthwhile as the amount of Ads increases over time. I can genuinely see a potential for earning more from Ad revenue than the cost of buying these hits, but I have a healthy amount of scepticism that it will go wrong when Google Adsense find out about how I’m obtaining new hits. I will be fully testing this, so you don’t need to take the risk of getting Adsense suspended or similar Ad networks. If this system does prove to work, one could truly make massive amounts of income using it.

26/06/09:
I have joined Trek Pay and at the time of writing there are 3066 members. I have already promoted my affiliate links for both systems using a couple of Safelists and using Peak Hour Traffic. I am surprised to get 1 referral already for Trek Advertising which helps my revenue here and I’m delighted my referral is actually the manager and owner of Peak Hour Traffic, Bert Bryen!
I have gained 73 credits from browsing all the initial Ads which took about 15 minutes. My overall activity rank is already 284/3066 thanks to the referral.
I will be continuing to promote and click on Ads each day. I’m now very interested to see how much my first payment will be into my account!
27/06/09:
I have already managed to get 3 members in my downline after advertising using Peak Hour Traffic & Safelists and my overall rank is now 266 out of 3241 members. I have 112 credits, but there are 39 more Ads to view for credits, so it’s all good at the moment.
I’ve now got 180 credits after clicking on all the 39 Ads available and it took about 20 minutes.
28/06/09:
WOW, I’ve got 6 referrals for the 1st system (Trek Pay) already, but none for the 2nd system (Trek Advertising). I’m now ranked 205 out of 3514 members overall. I have 225 credits, but there are 34 more Ads to view for credits so there’s appears to be a reasonable amount every day although they are mainly the same Ads as yesterday. Membership has gone from 3066 to 3514 members in just 2 days so this system is really taking off at the moment. I hope it doesn’t become saturated too quickly however.
I have now got 338 credits and I’m ranked 144 out of 3530 as I’ve now got 9 referrals. I’m doing extremely well in just 2 days and it will be interesting to see how much I earn as so far my account balance is still $0.
29/06/09:
WOW, I have 635 credits and amazingly 26 referrals for Trek Pay along with 1 for Trek Advertising, I’m now ranked position 23 out of 3880 members overall which is brilliant after just 3 days. I still have 36 Ads to click today too to increase my credits even more. They are meant to work out payments between Tuesday and Thursday, so I’ll be very interested to see what I’ve earned. I’ve done extremely well, so if I only earn pittance, I’ll be very disappointed and it won’t be worth most people using the system. Hopefully I’ll earn a reasonable amount, we will soon see.
Ouch, the Trek Pay system is running very slow at the time of writing with intermittent SQL errors, they appear to be having problems. I hope it’s not overloaded or serious as finding it hard and very slow to browse for credits at present.
30/06/09:
It’s been a very quiet day for getting referrals as I haven’t had any time to promote, but I’m now position 23 out of 4499 members with 779 credits as I’ve kept up clicking on all the Ads available which has taken about 20 minutes a day. I sincerely hope my payout is reasonable for my first week as otherwise this system won’t be worth using as most people wouldn’t do anywhere near as well as rank 24 from so many members in just 4 days. I will know how much I’ve earned within the next day or two if all goes according to plan. Incidentally in 4 days of using Trek Pay, I haven’t seen a single anti-cheat icon appear although I suppose this might change in future.
30/06/09 – ** EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING 1ST PAYOUT **:
After referring a total of 27 people including 1 on Trek Advertising and getting to rank position 23 our of 4633 members with over 800 credits, I’ve only earned a terrible $4.58 or £2.76 in the UK. 4609 people out of the 4633 will be worse off than me on the system and most will be much worse off, so the $50 payout a week is not realistically obtainable, well I haven’t even got a 10th this and most people will probably have payouts of less than $1. I haven’t even got enough for minimum payout which is utterly ridiculous considering the amount of work I’ve put in including using masses of Safelist credits to promote. I am gutted how terrible the payment is for so much work when they promise much much higher. How many people will have referred 27 people like me in just over 4 days? Hardly any. Imagine what you’d get if you did average on the system or poorly. The only small good thing is that I’ve gained 51 credits since payout from my referrals, so I suppose referrals can pay over a long period of time. I will use the system for another week to get my minimum payout at least, but it’s certainly a very VERY poor payout to say the least and I will be writing to them to complain. I had over 800 credits and I’ve worked out Trek Pay will have made a revenue of $16 from these credits, so why only $4.58 from revenue sharing? Trek Pay choose to pocket $13.42 out of the $16 which is far too much.
02/07/09 – ** SURPRISE EXTRA MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT & WITHDRAWAL AVAILABLE **:
I’ve logged into Trek Pay to find my account balance has gone from $4.58 to $8.34 (about £5.21 in the UK) and I can now request a Paypal payment which shows the site is a least genuine! I only expected one earnings payout per week, so it’s a nice surprise. I suspect this has happened because I’ve just got a 2nd referral for Trek Advertising, this referral has probably brought paid advertising as assuming they have I get a cut, but I still didn’t expect the money to be available immediately. $8.34 a week is still somewhat disappointing considering how many referrals I have, but obviously it’s an improvement. I will continue to update to how much I make next week and I currently have 109 credits with some advertising still to click today for more credits.
03/07/09 – ** WOW – ANOTHER SURPRISE $10.59 IN MY ACCOUNT TODAY! **:
Another nice surprise today from Trek Pay, I’ve got another $10.59 in my account (£6.47 in the UK). This means that I’ve now earned a total of $18.53 (£11.33 in the UK) in my first week which isn’t so bad, so I’m now pleased I persevered with this system after all. I didn’t expect 3 increases on my account balance within a week, so at first I thought the payout was worse than it really was. I’ve now referred 29 people to Trek Pay and 2 people to Trek Advertising, I’m ranked position 109 out of 5705 members. Membership is certainly exploding as Trek Pay only had 3066 members a week ago and this has risen to 5705 members at the time of writing. I think this system is going to become quite big, but it could all come crashing down if and when Google Adsense and other Ad networks have a serious problem with Trek Advertising which is the system that finances Trek Pay.
09/07/09 ** PAYMENT RECEIVED IN MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT & THIS WEEKS EARNINGS CALCULATED **:
I have received my first payment into my Paypal account a few days ago which shows the system really does pay out and it’s definitely NOT a scam. My 2nd weeks earnings has been worked out at $8.58 (£5.29 in the UK), but the cut of date was a few days ago as had over 300 credits left in my account when it was credited. The payout is a bit disappointing as I’m now ranked at overall position 8 out of 8969 members, so I can hardly see how weekly payments could be as much as $50 to pay the maximum $200 a month. Commission payments from Trek Advertising are unlimited and are credited instantly, they are separate to the other weekly earnings. It’s more difficult to promote Trek Advertising however in comparison to Trek Pay as one has to pay to get any benefit out of Trek Advertising when Trek Pay pays it’s members and all membership is totally free. I’ve only managed to get 2 referrals for Trek Advertising when I’ve got 79 referrals for Trek Pay, but I’m continuing to promote both systems.
I’m looking forward to next week to see if my earnings improves.
10/07/09 ** VERY UNCERTAIN FUTURE FOR TREK PAY **:
After reading a comment from Tannilisa (see comments below this article), it shows that Google are likely to have a serious problem with Trek Advertising and so probably will other Ad networks. Without Trek Advertising, there no revenue to share amongst the members of Trek Pay. Unless the situation changes, the future of both systems is in my opinion in serious jeopardy. Trek Pay is genuinely paying at the moment, so make the most of it while you can as this may not last. Trek Pay members will still get shared revenue from people buying basic hits using Trek Advertising, but this might not be enough to ensure their long term survival.
15/07/09 ** VERY DISAPPOINTING EARNINGS FOR THE 3RD WEEK **:
Okay, I haven’t been actively promoting Trek Pay this week, but I have clicked on all the Ads available each day without fail. For all this I’ve only earned a disappointing $2.92 which is extremely poor indeed and this is roughly all one can expect if you don’t promote and get referrals or commissions. I have received my 2nd weeks earnings into my Paypal account so at least this continues to prove they are genuine, but I haven’t even reached the threshold amount for payment this week which is $5.50 so it carries over to the next. I hope for much better next week. Incidentally, Trek Pay is now up to a massive 11,968 members at the time of writing so membership levels are exploding. Unless Trek Advertising revenues continues to increase in proportion with Trek Pay membership however, the revenue amount will simply have to be shared across more members which is what I suspect is happening and unfortunately this could continue to get worse until Trek Pay isn’t worth using, especially if Google Adsense and other Ad networks start taking disciplinary action against Advertisers paying to use Trek Advertising, it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks…
22/07/09 ** EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EARNINGS FOR THE 4TH WEEK – IS TREKPAY GOING DOWNHILL? **:
It’s been another week of just clicking on the Ads daily without promoting or getting any new referrals, unfortunately I’ve only earned a terribly disappointing $1.55 this week (94p in UK pounds) which means with last weeks money of $2.92, I’ve still only got a total of $4.47 in my account for 2 weeks work which isn’t even enough for a payout request. Trekpay membership is soaring at 15,968 members at the time of writing, all trying to earn money for reading Ads paid for by Trek Advertising members, but I strongly suspect that Trek Advertising just isn’t keeping up, so less earnings are split between more people. If this trend continues, soon Trek Pay won’t be worth using at all unless one gets lots of referrals and it will get worse. With the risk of Google Adsense and perhaps other Ad systems taking disciplinary action against members of Trek Advertising, the future of Trek Pay & Trek Advertising is looking more and more bleak unless something is pulled out of the bag. I will update next week…
30/07/09 ** ONLY $1.39 FOR THE 5TH WEEK – PAYOUTS ARE GETTING WORSE & WORSE! **:
An even more disappointing week with an abysmal payment of just $1.39 (About 84p in the UK). Okay I haven’t been promoting the system, but I’ve religiously clicked on all the sites available daily. I’ve now got $5.86 for 3 weeks work and I’ve requested my payout. Trek Pay now has 20,438 members and it’s clear that there’s simply too many members without enough money from advertising to go round, plus it’s getting worse. I will continue to use the system and will report back again next week, but unless one promotes the system to get referrals, it isn’t really worth using any more.
06/08/09 ** JUST $1.03 FOR THE 6TH WEEK – PAYOUTS ARE NOW DYING **:
Only $1.03 (about 61p in the UK) is all I’ve earned for a week of loyally clicking on every site each day. Okay I haven’t gained any affiliates this week again as I haven’t actively promoted, but one should get better than this. The payouts are going from bad to worse as Trek Pay membership has now exploded to 23,849 members at the time of writing, all sharing advertising revenue generated by Trek Advertising that clearly isn’t keeping up. Incidentally most Ads are now for standard clicks at just 1 credit each instead of 3 credits to click on the site followed by an Ad. I suspect this is because of Google Adsense and perhaps other Ad networks having a problem with Trek Advertising, hence people don’t want to risk buying Ad clicks to face possible disciplinary action. Unless Trek Pay / Trek Advertising change something drastically soon, people will be paid just a few cents a week in a few months and the whole system will in my opinion die out as members realise it’s just not worth using any more. Incidentally I received my 3rd payout to Paypal, so at least they are an honest organisation. TrekPay was worth using, but this isn’t the case now. I will continue to persevere with it however and will update next week again where payouts will probably be even worse still.
I have noticed a small scam, but it’s NOT Trek Pay or Trek Advertising themselves that are the scamming people. With Trek Pay, you can either earn 1 credit for a “standard visitor” where you just click and visit the website or 3 credits for “searches” where you click on the website and then click on an Ad of your choice. Obviously advertising is much cheaper if paying for just standard visitors, but I’ve noticed that people are buying standard visitors instead of searches, then they are putting something like, “Click The Ads, I Give You 3 Credits – No Bluff” in the displayed details. More and more of this is happening and it’s starting to flood the system, yet they only every pay 1 credit as the advertisers aren’t able to issue extra credits and they’re therefore gaining extra Ad clicks using deception. Trek Advertising should put a stop to this as people are left to scam people on Trek Pay with these false promises.
13/08/09 ** IT GETS WORSE STILL – ONLY $0.82 FOR THE 7TH WEEK **:
The payout trend has gone from bad to worse to even worse still as just $0.82 (about 50p in the UK) for a week of clicking everything is terrible and just not worth while any more, especially when payouts are still dwindling with no definite end in site. TrekPay are supposed to announce something new soon that will improve payouts Etc, well it’s certainly well needed, but I’m quite skeptical that they can reverse this awful downtrend before it’s too late.
29/08/09 ** CONCLUSION FOR TREK PAY – LIKELY TO BE A BLEAK FUTURE! **:
Trek Pay is now paying so little that it’s no longer worth my time and effort using it any more. The following week to getting paid roughly just 50p, I only earned approx 30p for clicking on everything available and it’s expected to get even worse as dwindling revenues from the flawed Trek Advertising system is split between more and more people as time goes on.
There’s currently 36,986 members of Trek Pay at the time of writing all wanting their revenue share. Trek Advertising is sadly flawed because members are having disciplinary action taken against them by Google Adsense when paying for so called searches that directly gives Ad hits. If buying Ads using Trek Advertising is a breach of Google Adsense’s terms and conditions, it’s likely to be a breach also for other revenue earning advertising systems. A few people are still paying for Ads using Trek Advertising, but more are now just paying for standard hits to the website instead of hits to the Ads themselves, this is okay, but not anywhere near as desirable as paid hits are available all over the Internet so it’s hardly a unique offering. Simple paid hits cost a 3rd of the price and therefore they pay just a 3rd of the revenue to Trek Pay members that click on them. Also there’s no where near enough Ads from Trek Advertising for members of Trek Pay to make a genuine search as it’s very easy just to click on every single Ad. Most people are simply clicking through the full list of Ads each day without even reading them properly just to get credits. People certainly aren’t searching for the Ads or websites they’re interested in as the system was clearly designed to do, so the quality of the hits is very poor for the unfortunate people paying for them. Trek Pay said that the amount of Ads would increase over time to make searches feasible, but this just isn’t happening as they expected. All this is in my opinion why Trek Advertising is failing and if Trek Advertising fails, Trek Pay fails too as there’s little or no revenue to split between it’s members.
It’s a real shame that Trek Pay payouts have virtually died and Trek Advertising which pays the entire revenue for members of Trek Advertising just isn’t working as they expected. I say it’s a real shame as Trek Pay isn’t and never was a scam as they do and have paid when someone requests payment at an account balance of $5.50 or above. I still hope Trek Pay changes and becomes worth using again in the future, but they will certainly need to pull a something very clever out of the bag to save Trek Pay & Trek Advertising from complete annihilation. I will keep and eye on it and I may try both systems again in the future, but for now I’m stopping as it’s simply not worth it any more. I wish Trek Pay the very best for the future and thank them for my past payments.
10/10/09 *** TIME TO GIVE TREK PAY A 2ND CHANCE! ***
It’s been a while since I’ve tested Trek Pay because of the poor dwindling payouts, but I think it’s about time I gave it a 2nd chance. From today I will be using the system again most days again, viewing the Ads available for the next few weeks and will report my earning again to see if there’s any improvement.
I have $3.19 in my account and I’ve just clicked on today’s Ads getting me up to 39 credits so far as I had a few credits left to start with.
15/00/09 ** VERY POOR PAYMENT YET AGAIN, BUT ONLY FOR A FEW DAYS SURFING **:
I’ve just been paid, but I only managed 2 days of surfing as I started surfing again partly through a week. I have however only earned a terrible 25 Cents (about 15p in the UK) which so far makes me believe that Trek Pay hasn’t improved since abandoning the 1st test due to very low payouts. I will however try the system properly and I’ll make an effort to surf most days to give a definite answer to how well they are now paying after giving the system a break.
23/10/09 ** SLIGHTLY BETTER PAYMENT THIS WEEK, BUT STILL VERY POOR! **:
I’ve been surfing regularly for a week and I’ve just had $0.69 or 69 Cents (About 41p) added to my account. My balance is now at $4.13, so if this continues, I should reach the minimum amount to get paid again in 2 weeks which is $5.50. The payment is still very poor for a weeks surfing and no where near what they used to pay, but I haven’t had any new referrals. Hopefully Trek Pay have at least stopped the slump and you never know, payments could be getting better again in future. I will continue to test and time will tell.
I will say however that there’s still no where near enough Ads to make searching feasible as it’s very easy to click on every website Ad each day. What’s worse is there hasn’t been an increase of Ads over the weeks as Trek Pay intended and therefore the system of people clicking on Google Ads (or other similar paid Ad network’s Ads) that they are interested in doesn’t work and it’s no wonder advertisers are getting disciplined. Most of the Ads are now basic hits because of this very serious problem, but this wasn’t what Trek Pay intended either. Unfortunately basic hit Ads only pay 1 credit instead of 3 credits to the Trek Pay user which reduces paid revenue. It looks like Trek Pay have had to settle for this as they’re now out of pre-release and the message saying that there will be much more Ads in future to make searching feasible has gone.
I’ve noticed that many Ads are now blatantly trying to deceive people to click on the Google Ads or similar saying they will get extra credits when they really only pay 1 credit for visiting the site no matter what. This is a way of dishonestly paying less for advertising while still getting lots of Ad clicks, plus they’re less likely to get disciplined by their Ad network, E.g. Google Ads. Trek Pay aren’t policing this at all, instead they’re just warning people not to believe what many advertisers write. They have obviously lost control of this problem completely and are so desperate for advertisers that they’re not bothering disciplining anyone.
23/10/09 ** DIRE PAYMENTS CONTINUE & I’M GIVING UP AGAIN SOON **:
I’ve surfed every day this week and I’ve only earned a terrible 75 Cents (about 46 Pence in the UK) which has brought my balance up to just $4.88 which still isn’t enough for a payout. This is in my opinion dire and it shows that the system still isn’t worth using. I will continue until I reach the minimum payment threshold of $5.50, but unless a miracle happens between now and then, making the payments worth while for the work involved, I will stop using Trek Pay again as it’s not in my opinion worth the time and effort for so little.
07/11/09 ** GIVING UP AGAIN DUE TO ONGOING DIRE PAYMENTS **:
I’ve decided to give up using Trek Pay again for the time being due to ongoing dire payouts although I may try the system once more in a few months time. I will use it for one more week however as I’m almost up to my $5.50 payout threshold.
PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE FOR POSSIBLE FUTURE UPDATES!
TREK ADVERTISING REVIEW LOG:
Please below to Join: (It helps me, but my review remains unbiased!)

26/06/09:
I have joined Trek Advertising. I’m a little sceptical about Trek Advertising as I’m worried that Google won’t be happy if and when they find out about how I’m generating extra Ad hits, but I’m going to try the system anyway by buying 84 Ad visits to my Google Ads at $5.04. First I need to work on a suitable webpage with only Google Ads on it, otherwise people could click on other Ads as you can’t specify which ones visitors click on.
28/06/09:
It’s a shame I haven’t got any referrals for this 2nd system, Trek Advertising as yet unlike the 1st system, Trek Pay. Although both systems are free to join, you get nothing out of Trek Advertising unless you pay something for advertising and you have your own website, preferably with revenue making Ads on it, E.g. Google Ads. I suppose all this makes Trek Advertising more specialised and harder to get referrals than Trek Pay.
I have now completed a suitable webpage with plenty of Google Ads (and just Google Ads) so I can pay for Ad clicks using Trek Advertising. The problem I have however is getting Google Ads to be relevant to the site. I will wait another day to see if this improves before purchasing my 84 hits at $5.04 anyway, it will be very interesting to see if Google mind or notice. As I said earlier, I’m taking this risk so you don’t have to.
29/06/09:
I’ve managed to get my 1st referral for Trek Advertising, but it’s much harder to get referrals here than on Trek Pay where I’ve got 26 referrals. 1 referral however is a lot better than none when you are using a ranking system as most people won’t have any referrals at all who will be lower ranked than me. Struggling to get my Google Ads relevant to my website as still totally irrelevant today, this is sometimes where Google Adsense really lets the side down. I’m going to try changing the site text and will wait another day before buying 84 Google Ad hits at $5.04 which is in my opinion a bargain if the system works and you’re not suspended by Google Adsense for doing it which is the big if.
30/06/09:
I have managed to get my Google Ads more targeted my marking the relevant sections and targeting them which is a lesser know feature available in Adsense. I’ve now submitted my page with Google Ads on it and paid for 84 hits to start with at $5.04, it will be interesting to see the results.
HERE ARE THE 3 BIG QUESTIONS THAT WILL SOON BE ANSWERED:
1. Will the system work and really deliver my 84 Google Ad clicks that I’ve paid for?
2. Will my Google Account continue to remain in good standing after receiving my paid Ad clicks?
3. Will I earn more than the outgoing cost of $5.04 from Google Adsense for 84 hits?
In the mean time this site is interesting as it debates whether or not using Trek Pay is a breach of Google’s Terms & Conditions, see http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2054024.aspx and read carefully as it certainly makes Trek Advertising look very dodgy with Google Adsense to say the least. Risky? Well maybe, but I have seen the same websites advertising on TrekPay for 4 days now without a ban so far and Trek Pay include the following quote on one of their FAQs, “Your website is not part of any so called ‘Traffic exchange’ and held within frames. You do not have to understand this but this process protects publishers terms of agreements.”. Do I believe Trek Pay? Well, I’m somewhat unsure, but I will know a lot more in the next day or so.
31/06/09 *** CONCLUSION FOR TREK ADVERTISING ***:
Well Trek Advertising are showing 84 hits with different IP addresses that I brought for $5.04, yet I only have 29 clicks on Google Adsense showing up. I suspect people can earn their credits without clicking on the Ads as they are meant to, thus the system can fail. Anyway I’ve earned $6.59 on Adsense which is a grand profit of just $1.55 or 94p in the UK.
Was it worth it? Well if I really did get 84 Ad hits as promised and if I knew I wouldn’t be banned from Google Adsense for using the system, then yes it would be worth it, but as it stands with the uncertainness of being banned and unreliable Ad hits, I’m concluding that Trek Advertising isn’t worth while using at present. This might change however in future and I will keep a close eye on what happens with other people’s Google Adsense accounts with great interest while using Trek Pay, plus I will keep searching for people who have been banned already from Google Adsense or other Ad networks (so far I can’t actually find anyone banned). If my Google Adsense account does get suspended for these 29 hits, I will also update, but I see no reason to take any more risks at present. Yes, I could buy a bigger quantity of credits for greater gains, but the more credits, the higher the risk of Google Adsense having a serious problem with me.
09/07/09:
I haven’t been banned from Google Adsense for using Trek Advertising on this occasion so far and I’ve seen the same sites advertising using the system for a week and a half since I joined with their Google Adsense Ads still active. It doesn’t mean that Google or other Ad networks won’t have a serious problem with Trek Advertising eventually and the future is very uncertain for Trek Advertising and it’s customers. I will give it another week and will risk using the system again so you don’t have to.
10/07/09 *** IMPORTANT – GOOGLE ADSENSE MEMBER WARNED FOR USING TREK ADVERTISING ***:
Please read a comment gratefully received from tannilisa on the 9th July 2009 about being warned by Google Adsense for using Trek Advertising! Please also read my full response in the comment below this one on the 10th July 2009. It’s certainly a major blow for Trek Advertising and I certainly DON’T recommend that anyone uses this system with Google Adsense from now on unless Google decide to officially allow it which is very unlikely or if Trek Advertising dramatically changes the way it works. If you are using another Ad network, I’d check with them that it’s okay to use Trek Advertising first or risk being banned, probably losing all your unpaid earnings to date. It’s okay to buy basic hits to your website instead where people aren’t encouraged to click on your Google Ads for credits. Trek Advertising will continue to make some revenue from basic hits no matter what happens with Google, but will this be enough?
Because of receiving evidence of Google having an issue with account holders that use Trek Advertising, I see no need to test the system again unless the situation changes in future.
17/11/09 – *** Don’t Use Trek Advertising Or Be Banned From Google Adsense ***:
Another person has warned my readers by using our Shout Box that his/her Adsense account got “shut off” for using Trek Advertising, telling people not to use it. There’s now various reports of people being suspended or banned from Google Adsense using this system. Using Trek Advertising to get Adsense hits is clearly breaching their terms and conditions. If you must use Trek Advertising, then only buy basic hits if at all. If you do buy basic hits, you’re not allowed to ask people to click on your Ads like some people do. I personally wouldn’t even risk buying basic hits even though your not officially breaking their terms and conditions as Google Adsense might now be suspending anyone for using Trek Advertising full stop pending further investigation! Please don’t underestimate Google Adsense’s very advanced policing system, many people have tried and failed to fool it. Other Ad networks might be more lenient, but I wouldn’t risk it either.
If you are suspended or banned just for buying basic hits on Trek Advertising and you haven’t asked anyone to click on your Ads, then write back to Google explaining this fact. I’m sorry, but if you have brought Ad hits or if you ask people to click on your Ads, you haven’t got a case against your suspension and not knowing you’ve broken their terms and conditions is a very poor defence as it’s entirely your responsibility to read and adhere to them. I can in this situation only advise you apologise to Google Adsense asking them to reduce your account balance accordingly explaining that you’ve now learnt from your mistakes and that it won’t happen ever again, although even this can’t guarantee that you’re reinstated. In the worst case scenario or if you simply want to use an alternative to Google Adsense anyway, please click here for a list of Google Adsense alternatives.

Japeriffic, answering your question, Trek Pay only resets your credits to 0 after they convert them into account cash once a week which is usually between Tuesday and Thursday each week. When you reach $5.50 or more you can request a payment via Paypal which is easily obtainable. 1 credit is worth a varying amount from week to week as it’s a profit sharing system. You can also gain instant account cash from commissions if any referrals buy advertising at any time.
Trek Pay really do pay as I’ve received payment into my Paypal account, if in doubt, please contact me for proof!

Hi, I just wanted to tell you that I was using Trek Pay for advertising and I got a warning e-mail from google today, this is what they wrote (thought you would like to know), so I guess I won’t be advertising my adsense sites there anymore!
Hello,
It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on
your Google ads, posing a financial risk to our AdWords advertisers.
Please note that any activity that may artificially inflate an
advertiser’s costs or a publisher’s earnings is strictly prohibited by our
program policies.
We understand that you may want more information about the activity we
detected. However, because we have a need to protect our proprietary
detection systems, we’re unable to provide our publishers with any details
about their account activity, including any web pages or users that may
have been involved. Thank you for your understanding.
We recommend reviewing these references to learn more about invalid click
activity and other activities that could endanger your account standing:
http://www.google.com/adsense/policies
http://www.google.com/adsense/terms
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=8426
Please note that because we credit advertisers for any invalid activity we
detect, we may adjust your account earnings for any days during which
invalid clicks occurred.
If you were clicking your ads out of interest or to see who was
advertising on your site, please note that clicking on your own ads for
any reason is strictly prohibited by our program policies. Instead, we
suggest using the AdSense preview tool as an alternative. This tool will
allow you to check the destination of ads on your page without the risk of
generating invalid clicks. For more information, please visit our Help
Center at https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/topic.py?topic=160.
Lastly, please note that if we continue to detect invalid clicks on your
Google ads, we may take further action on your account in order to protect
our advertisers’ interests. Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,

Response to Tannilisa’s Warning From Google Adsense For Using Trek Advertising:
Thank you very much Tannilisa, it’s very useful information for our readers and also for myself. I would love to know how many Ad clicks you’ve brought using Trek Advertising to get this warning and over how long if this is possible? I’ll be opening a support ticket with Trek Advertising to see what their official response is to learning about someone receiving an official warning from Google for using their system when they clearly quote, “Your website is not part of any so called ‘Traffic exchange’ and held within frames. You do not have to understand this but this process protects publishers terms of agreements.” on their website.
One might assume that there’s a ’safe’ level of hits one can buy before Google suspect cheating. This so called ’safe’ amount could vary depending on how many Ad click one has normally. Google probably automatically looks for sudden changes in people’s account activity, E.g. if one only gets an average of say 10 clicks a month and then suddenly one gets a few hundred clicks in an hour, I’d expect Google to flag up an alert for a person to review the account in question. Action will then be taken against the account holder, but if this is a 1st time and unless the breach is considered extremely serious, it appears Google only issue an initial warning without taking further action at the moment, except perhaps to remove the offending hits from the Google Adsense account and the earnings associated with them. I strongly suspect that if the warning is ignored, Google will suspend or ban the account completely, so take any warning extremely seriously if you want to continue using Google Adsense after that. If your account is closed down for breaching their terms and conditions, you will most likely lose all your unpaid earning to date, so be warned. The warning will probably stay on the account for a certain amount of time, like points on a driving licence, but this could be anything from a few months to years.
Google are absolutely massive and they keep their cheat security check methods very secret to make it harder for people to work around them, but I really wouldn’t underestimate the effectiveness of these anti-cheat methods. There are almost certainly masses of extremely complex and very clever algorithms designed to stop people cheating Google Adsense. Google will be improving and adding to these anti-cheat engines regularly. Loads of people will have attempted to cheat Google, but it’s extremely important to Google that hardly anyone ever succeeds to keep the price of advertising at a reasonable level.
Here is one example of just 1 possible cheat detection method that Google probably use: If Google catches someone using Trek Advertising to buy hits, it might well keep a note of the suspected source IP addresses. If too many of these IP addresses show up on another Google Adsense account, it would also flag up an alert on this account too. In other words, the more people Google catch using Trek Advertising, the harder it will be for other people to use Trek Advertising and Google Adsense in future without getting caught. Also if Trek Advertising becomes too much of an issue for Google, they are bound to implement even more methods to detect and stop it.
It’s extremely bad news for the future of Trek Advertising, but at least Google appear to warn people first before suspending their accounts at the moment, but I wouldn’t guarantee this happens every time and this policy could change at any time. They are probably being lenient at the moment because Google can see that Trek Advertising sell their system as a genuine way to get Ad hits and not as a way of cheating the system, but watch out for a future memo telling users specifically not to use such systems as after that Google might not be so lenient. Without Trek Advertising, there’s no revenue to be shared amongst the members of Trek Pay so both systems will fail. There maybe other Ad networks that allow Trek Advertising without any problem, but obviously Google is by far the biggest and therefore I can’t see Trek Advertising or Trek Pay surviving for long unless they make drastic changes to their system.
At least Trek Pay is genuinely paying out at the moment as I’ve actually received a payment to my Paypal account, although the amount was a bit disappointing and there may now be a bleak future for the system. I now wouldn’t recommend using Trek Advertising with Google Adsense unless the system is dramatically changed or Google agree that it’s allowed which I think is unlikely. I’d contact other Ad networks before using Trek Advertising or one could lose your entire earnings when one is banned. It’s still okay to buy basic website hits using Trek Advertising as this doesn’t encourage people to click on your Ads for credits, Trek Advertising will always make some revenue from selling basic hits, but I’m doubtful this alone would be enough to ensure their long term survival. It’s also perfectly okay to click on Google Ads using Trek Pay to earn revenue while this is possible as people just clicking on Google Ads are not bound to any Google agreement or terms and conditions.
Trek Pay is currently operating like a pay to click system because it’s easy for members to click on every single Ad each day whether they interest them or not, simply because there’s not enough of them. The idea of Trek Pay is to search for something one is interested in, then to click on the Ad, but for this to work there needs to be hundreds, preferably thousands of Ads, but there’s roughly only around 35 Ads available for each member to click each day. Unless this changes the system isn’t working as promised.
It’s a real shame that Trek Pay and Trek Advertising isn’t working as intended as it’s clear to me that the owners aren’t trying to scam anyone because they are in fact paying out. In my opinion the owners genuinely intended the system to work as a search engine instead of a pay to click system / traffic exchange for paid Ads and if this had really happened as planned, Google might not of had a problem with it. I know they wouldn’t have intended to upset Google and I suspect the owners will be very upset about this.

Yes the visits & clicks on my site were more than usual, so I suppose they got suspicious of that. I only advertised twice and bought 250 hits and out of that less than half clicked on ads. I’ll continue with Trek pay for a while loner to see what happens, but not to advertise, unless it’s a non adsense site.

Thanks again, Tannilisa for your very useful input. It’s not good that Google had a problem with only 250 hits brought twice. Also it’s a good point that only half of the hits brought using Trek Advertising actually clicked on the Ads, so the Ad clicks aren’t totally guaranteed. It appears that if you’re using Trek Pay, you get your 3 credits even before clicking on any Ads on a website that your supposed to, hence the system fails here somewhat.

Sadly it still doesn’t look like Trek Pay / Trek Advertising is going to take off like it was planned as there’s not enough adverts to make searching worth while and Google Adsense are likely to have a problem with advertisers. it’s a real shame as a system like this deserves to work. I still hope the owner(s) will pull something out of the bag, but it will need a dramatic change.

IMPORTANT GOOGLE ADSENSE INFO
PLEASE READ:
I now strongly recommend that you DON’T use Trek Advertising AT ALL with Google Adsense as I’ve discovered that even using basic hits could lead to “invalid clicks” and an ultimate ban where you stand to lose all your earnings as it’s very likely that all Trek Pay traffic will be blacklisted by Google in general.
In fact it’s not recommend you advertise your Google Ads website using any Traffic Exchange or program where you get artificial hits, E.g for credits, especially pay per click sites – YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! In my opinion Google Adsense’s terms and conditions are far too strict in general as one could be banned for numerous reasons and many are not obvious to the average person. Google also impose numerous content restrictions and policies on your website, for some people it can seem that Google has more control over your website content than you the owner does! In fact it “appears” you can be even be banned for someone else’s activity or other people’s activity that you have little or in some cases absolutely no control over (this isn’t 100% confirmed)! I have read hundreds of complaints across the Internet where people have lost their hard earned money and many really don’t understand why. I will be writing a full article about this soon. PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE…
PS: I have been now been warned for “invalid clicks” myself by Google Adsense, it maybe when I tested Trek Advertising very briefly a number of months ago that caused this, but Google certainly won’t reveal the real reason to protect their complex anti-cheat system methods, obviously I won’t be repeating the test with Google Adsense. I will be looking however for a good alternative Ad network with more lenient and reasonable terms and conditions + policies. Again, PLEASE WATCH THIS SPACE…

I have just been paid another instalment of just over $6, so although it’s quite slow to many money, they are still paying out although they now wait 7 days before paying Paypal and have changed their Terms & Conditions appropriately.
