I was initially very intrigued by what we’d discovered while out with my paranormal investigation and research group named Birmingham Investigators of the Unknown. While present, my college was taking photos of an old abandoned building nearby a churchyard. The house certainly appeared to be locked up properly and we’d seen no sign of anyone inside on any visits or any lights. My friend took various photos of the front of the building, which included windows and doors. On one photo, the curtain in one window appeared moved to the opposite side to the rest of the photos and there was different objects visible in the window. Similar changes were also present in 2 other windows on this photo. A curtain also appeared to have been moved behind the main front door, but what made this look amazing was some ivy growing up the building, on the photo in question it’s growth appeared quite different like the photo was taken a year or so earlier, but the photos were only taken a few seconds after each-other! Incidentally about 30 seconds before these photos were taken a photograph of an unexplained swirl of white mist above the house was also taken which also added to the intrigue.

I’ve studied the evidence and as an experienced paranormal investigator, I couldn’t see a definite explanation for the changes in the photos and needed to revisit ASAP. Okay, one could say that someone was hiding in the building, we’ll I doubt it and even if they were, how could all the objects suddenly change together including the ivy growth? It’s surely impossible unless one considers a time-slip theory or other unexplained paranormal phenomenon? Well unfortunately not as we have since explained the difference from the photos, but other anomalies still remain unexplained.

Update 03/08/09:

We have returned to the location in daylight. The curtains at the opposite side have now been explained as there’s curtains on both sides in the window in question, one could only see the curtain on one side while observing at certain angles and on the other side from other angles. This was particularly deceiving as the curtains were some distance from the window itself making the angle view difference much greater. Discovering this was initially quite disappointing, but even though this had now been explained, some of the other anomalies still remained unexplained as we couldn’t initially reproduce the same taking photo’s from all angles although I hadn’t studied the new photos in great detail as yet. We even stayed after dark and continued taking photos as before under similar lighting conditions, but still we couldn’t reproduce everything. Also the original mist photo continued to remain unexplained and extremely interesting. We also felt extremely heavy around the grounds and my college Peter was picking up on possible ghost / spirit activity too. I later thoroughly examined the new photos and compared with the originals, please see the update below.

Update 04/08/09:

Here is the photograph of the house in question with an unexplained circle of mist caught above it. The photo was taken holding the camera steady and no smoke or mist was visibly present, also we took other photos at exactly the same location immediately afterwards and no mist was present, it definitely wasn’t a cloud formation either and it was much too warm to see our breath. This image has been greatly reduced in size for the purpose of this website, but you can still clearly see the anomaly. We won’t explain exactly where this abandoned building is located as it wouldn’t be fair on the quiet village people if we attracted excess visitors.

I’ve examined the new photos in detail comparing the original photos and more of the unusual photos are also disappointingly explained as tricks of the light at certain camera angles, unfortunately that’s sometimes the way things turn out with paranormal research, hence why we revisited the next day to get more evidence as a matter of urgency. We have however captured some more amazing light anomalies on the next visit including masses of unusually bright and well defined ‘orbs’, especially on one particular photograph, although they have appeared on numerous. ‘Orbs’ aren’t usually the best paranormal evidence as they can be dust particles, pollen or moisture amongst other things explainable, but we took a photo immediately afterwards to find they had gone. See the ‘orb’ photo below, again it’s reduced in size for the purpose of this website.

I’ve zoomed into one of the ‘orbs’ in the photo below, they appear to have a tail signifying fast movement perhaps?

We cannot say any of these bright ‘orbs’ or even the mist on the previous photo are caused by paranormal activity, but they are certainly very interesting indeed. In my opinion something is reflecting the camera flash causing the ‘orbs’, whether it’s small particles or something less explainable. We know they’re not insects as we caught a few insects on photo that evening and what came out was quite different.

We will be visiting the location at least once more to take further photos and video evidence. I will include some more photos soon too.
